Any child in kindergarten through 5th grade can join — boys and girls, from any Carmel-area school. You don't need camping experience, gear, or a Scouting background. Plenty of our parents had never pitched a tent before their first campout.

Questions new families ask
Who can join Pack 132?
Any child in kindergarten through 5th grade is welcome — boys and girls. Cub Scouts is family Scouting, so siblings and parents are part of nearly everything we do.
How much time does it take?
Plan on two den meetings a month plus one pack meeting or outing. Most families spend two to four hours a month, and you choose which optional campouts and events fit your calendar.
What does it cost?
Costs include national Scouting America membership dues, a Scout handbook, and pack dues that cover awards, activity supplies, and events. We never want cost to keep a child out — email us and we will quietly help with scholarships.
Do parents have to camp?
Yes, and that is the fun part. Cub Scout camping is family camping — a parent or guardian attends overnight events with their Scout. You do not need gear to start; the pack has tents and equipment to borrow.
What does my Scout need to get started?
A blue Cub Scout uniform shirt, neckerchief and slide for their den, and the handbook for their rank. New families can start in comfortable play clothes while you get outfitted.
How do you keep kids safe?
All registered leaders complete Scouting America Youth Protection Training and background screening, and we follow two-deep leadership and no one-on-one contact rules at every activity.
What is a den versus a pack?
A den is a small group of Scouts in the same grade that meets to work on adventures. The pack is all the dens together — we gather monthly for celebrations, awards, and big activities.
My child has never camped or hiked. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Most of our families start with zero outdoor experience. Leaders teach the skills step by step, and veteran families love helping newcomers pack for their first campout.
Parents are part of it
Cub Scouting only works because families pitch in. Some parents lead a den, some run the Pinewood Derby track, some bring the hot chocolate. There's a job for every comfort level, and every registered adult completes Youth Protection Training first.
